Valley Cottage, NY – Stephanie Madison will be the new president/CEO for the Mental Health Association of Rockland starting March 1.
A 14-year veteran of MHA, Madison will replace Dr. Karen A. Oates. Madison has been the executive vice president of the association. Oates, who is stepping down after 11 years, will remain with the association until the end of April to assist in the transition.
Oates was named the New York state Senate’s “Distinguished Woman of the Year 2005.” Among her accomplishments were improving the productivity and fiscal viability of the organization. A pivotal project was overseeing the opening of The Sen. Thomas P. Morahan Wellness Center. It has easy access to the Rockland community by public transportation. An opening celebration is planned for April 15.
