Mental Health Association of Rockland County
mental health association of rockland county

Are you a Rockland County agency?

No.  The MHA is a private 501 (c) 3 not-for-profit organization.  Although we do work closely with County offices, such as the Department of Mental Health, Department of Social Services and the Youth Bureau, we are not part of the County government system.

The MHA is one of over 300 affiliates of the National Mental Health Association, and a member of the Mental Health Association in New York State.

I think myself or someone I know needs to speak to a mental health professional (psychologist, psychiatrist, social worker).  Can I make an appointment to see someone at MHA?

The MHA does not offer one-on-one therapy/counseling services, but one of our professional clinicians would be happy to speak with you and help refer you to an appropriate community resource that best meets your particular needs.

What if I or someone I know is in a crisis situation?

Call the Rockland County Mental Health Crisis line at 845-364-2200.  It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Where does MHA get its funding?

MHA funding comes from a variety of sources.  Public funding comes from:

-         New York State Department of Mental Health

-         New York State Office of Alcohol & Substance Abuse Services

-         County of Rockland through private contracts

-         Medicaid and Medicare Programs

The MHA also receives funding from private donations and from various fundraising events held throughout the year.
