For Families & Friends: Community Education

The Community Education program provides mental health information, presentations, workshops and training for residents of Rockland County and the surrounding areas. The Community Education program includes the following:

Suicide Prevention Training

Evidence-based safeTALK is a three-hour workshop for the general community on how to recognize the warning signs of suicide and what to say and do (minimum of 20 attendees)

Mental Health Training

Trainings are available to libraries, agencies, businesses, and other organizations on mental health topics. This includes Mental Health First Aid trainings.

Consultation, Planning, Program Design and Implementation

Our staff includes licensed clinicians, nurses, psychiatrists, care managers, and people with personal experience as family members and those in recovery. We offer our expertise to help organizations and schools develop or improve the mental health component of their programs.

Information and Literature

Individual fact sheets, pamphlets, brochures, videos and self-help clearinghouse on a variety of mental health topics are available in our Valley Cottage office at no cost.
